2012 End of the World Predictions by Nostradamus

Quatrains of Ancient, Accurate Prophecies for December 21, 2012

Sep 13, 2009 Angela Schnaubelt

History Channel's documentary, Nostradamus 2012, interprets some of the quatrains of Nostradamus. Most foretell doom and gloom, but the astrologer left a message of hope.

Quatrains are four-line poems that Michel de Nostradamus used when writing his famous predictions for the future and the end of the world. The prophecies of this famous astrologer were often vague and couched in colorful, ambiguous language so as to escape censorship and ire from the Christian church in the mid 1500s.

History Channel's DVD documentary, Nostradamus 2012, explains the famous astrologer's predictions about the year 2012 and the so-called impending apocalypse.

Predictions of Worldwide Famine

Nostradamus predicted drought and disaster along 48 degrees latitude around the world. He references a lack of food and great famine. Most of the grain belts are found at this latitude. Lack of food from the major breadbaskets of the world, largely from the United States, would result in worldwide famine. Famine is mentioned numerous times in the quatrains of Nostradamus that refer to the end of the world.

According to author John Hogue in the History Channel's documentary, Nostradamus 2012, if the U.S. were to stop supplying food to the world, 100 countries would be affected and 400,000 people would die in just one short year on the continent of Africa alone.

End of the World Predictions of Supervolcanoes Erupting

The quatrains of Nostradamus refer to eruptions of volcanoes and destruction during the end times.

The supervolcano in Yellowstone Park has already moved into the "red zone," according to Lawrence Joseph, author of Apocalypse 2012. Mr. Joseph also asserts that a climax of solar activity can trigger the eruption of volcanoes on Earth.

Nostradamus Prophecies of Deadly Tsunami Waves, Global Warming, and Extreme Weather

In 2004, 150,000 people were killed in the tsunami wave from an unusual earthquake in the Pacific Ocean. The quatrains of Nostradamus could be interpreted to have predicted this deadly wave, as it speaks of dead fish and water far inland.

The quatrains also refer to global warming, as Nostradamus mentions seas heating up, rising, and extreme storms. Some experts interpret his quatrains to have referred specifically to Hurricane Katrina.

The article, End of the World Natural Disaster Predictions, gives more information about Nostradamus' predictions regarding global warming, extreme weather, and famines.

Predictions of Magnetic Pole Shift

Nostradamus alludes to blackouts and cataclysmic events caused by a magnetic pole reversal of the Earth in December of 2012.

In the documentary Nostradamus 2012, scientists explain that the Earth's magnetic field has reversed in the past, and could reverse again. The Earth is currently going through a phase where the magnetic field is weakening due to the solar system's orbit in the galaxy.

If the magnetic poles were to reverse in the planet, it would trigger a major collapse of all electromagnetic fields including cell phones, and all electronics.

Although many of Nostradamus' predictions were filled with dire warnings of cataclysmic disasters of famine, war, extreme weather and more, he did leave a message of hope. The hope lies in mankind's gift of Free Will. Mankind can choose to slow or even halt global warming, mankind can choose to mature spiritually and prevent war, and mankind can choose to write it's own fate in the Book of Life. The end of the world can be the beginning of a new world.

Then again, many people believe that absolutely nothing will happen on December 21, 2012.

NOSTRADAMUS HAVE WRITTEN EVERYTHING IN THE FORM OF QUATRAINS, AND NUMBER OF QUATRAINS IS AROUND 500, AND NO SINGLE INCIDENT IS WRITTEN AT A SINGLE PLACE, INCIDENCE ARE DERIVED BY MATCHING SINGLE SINGLE LINES FROM DIFFERNT QUARTRAINS. THE THINGS FIRST HAPPENS THEN WE ARE HAVING THE HABIT OF MATCHING IT WITH NOSTRADAMUS PREDICTIONS BY SEARCHING IT INTO HIS QUARTRAINS, MEANS ITS IDIOTIC TO BELIEVE IN THE PREDICTIONS AND QUATRAINS OF NOSTRADAMUS.

2012 or 10 years later. It doesn't really matter. Humans still fail to understand themselves. Natural calamity is something no one can prevent. Why are we so afraid to die? Think about it and if you have a chance go borrow a book written by a great mind of the 20th century. J.Krishnamurti (1895 -1986). Or check his few precious disclosures on google. It will change your life. I wish there were more documentation of this great soul. Go read or view it, rather than squabble amongst yourselves. We humans have been good at it since our existence.

know what to believe. It all sounds so convincing. I've heard so many things though. Like 6/6/06, I didn't believe that, but that day really was a rotten day for me, I had too much bad luck, like with the whole Friday the Thirteenth stuff too. I always happen to have bad luck, but I never believe in the world ending. We're still here, people even said the world would end this year, 2008. But it's nearly over and we're all still here, aren't we? But the thing that had me wonder is when my friend asked the Ouija Board when he'd die out of curiosity and it said he'd die at the age of 21, but it never told him how or anything. He is 17 until February 2009. And when will he be 21? In the year 2012. I don't believe those boards that much though, and really I just find it a coincidence. Though I am very superstitious. I don't know much about that Calendar but as far as I know, it's just another prediction on what may happen, just like all the other things I heard, and it's all very convincing but who is to truly know? Who can be sure? It's in the future. We have but to wait until that time comes to see what is to happen. We have the power to change our future. However, I do believe something will happen that day. I believe in some Golden Age. But look at where the earth is heading? The way people who live on it are taking care of it, whether or not the world will end that year, that date. The way we are taking care of it may be the destruction of it. Maybe not, I can't be sure. The world may come to an end at some point, but I'd like to think it'll go on forever. Look how far it's gotten already? I'd like to look at it as it will start all over again if anything. But really my hope is there to be an afterlife, like Heaven, you know? I believe, but who can truly be sure? I just have hope. I hate thinking of death, of the end of humanity, the world. Because then what? What else? Everything would have been pointless if it is to all just go away just like that, leaving nothing but darkness. What would be our point? We are we even here to begin with? Because you know, we could have never existed, yet here we are. I just can't help but think about it so deeply, you know? But I'm tired right now and honestly this has been eating away at me so badly considering I had a nightmare a few days ago about the world ending. And I got into all of this when my friend said something about 2012 to me again today, I had forgotten about all of this. Whatever is it come, in ways I dread it, in ways I have hope. I would, however, like to live my life longer than the age of 19. I want to live my life, get married, have kids, etc.. But I'd rather live my life to the fullest while I can rather than dread that date, though years fly by. You just have to make the best of it. I really don't know what else to say, everyone has their own opinion on it. But really, I hope for the best, and not the worst. And I believe that we can all live longer than that date. I want to have faith, I'm trying to think positive and it's hard, so don't ruin this for me. Because as I said, I'd much like to live my life to the fullest while I can, but we all die at some point, I just want to live longer than 2012. I'll stop my babbling now. I am a Mayan scholar. My website is: http://MayanArchaeology.tripod.com . I hold a Ph D in Archaeology, as well as a Theological Seminay degree. The Mayan calendar does end on 21 December, but maybe not 2012. It could be 2011 because our calendar does NOT have a year "0".
Apparently nothing happened at the end of the first Mayan cycle, nor the 2nd, 3rd or the 4th, so I don't really look for anything breath taking to take place at the end of the 5th cycle in the next year or 2 when their calendar ends.

All I can say is,time will be the answer to all.We all accepted for who we are.Born,Old age, sickness, and pass away. It's a circle of life.God can give us lives,or he who can take our lives away. The only thing we can do is,praying every day for "World Peace." Why so worried about 2012.

Why do people always look at life that we have some sort of purpose? I would also like to believe that we have but we are no different from any other living organism on the planet. Would you belive that a virus that grows and spreads through your body has a purpose? No. We have a brain and intellect so unlike a virus we can make choices, rather than just exist to survive but how many people make choices throughout their lives that have any sort of positive impact on the world around us? A chosen handful of "special people" who can think beyond their own immediate existence. How many people simply go to work, run a house, pay the bills, raise their kids and merely exist? about 99% of us. The sad thing is that human beings do resemble viruses in many ways (have you heard the quote on the Matrix). Apart from maybe a few tribes living in remote areas of the world, human beings do not live in any sort of equilibrium with our natural surroundings. We mine, quarry, deforest, consume, pollute, destroy and above all, reproduce. Much of this in the name of advancement and development and often for our own pleasure but never maintaining harmony with our natural environment. Global warming and warring with each other is sadly inevitable as human beings have never managed to develop to levels beyond our own necessities. How much of our brains do we actually use? Nowhere near what its full capacity is. All the advancements that have been made have been to make life easier for ourselves and in the process we have lost the necessity to evolve as a race. In the scale of the size of the universe we are no more than a virus, growth that has spread across a minute part of it and we are eroding it away and exhausting it.For all we feel we have power and control, what power would we have against a comet heading for earth? none. Everything in nature, in the world around us is about balance and the world as it it is totally unbalanced at the moment so sooner or later something must start putting the balance right. Look whats happening with the weather , global warming and weakening of the earths magnetic field. How much of this is a by product of our lifestyle and the way we live. Look at the attitude of people in the middle east, Irans persistence to develop nuclear weapons and the war going on at the moment which is a direct result of religion. While ever we continue to use our abilities for developments that either enable us to destroy each other or simply promote our lazy lifestyles and existence we, sadly have no hope.
